About Laurence

Hi! My name is Laurent and I am an A Level French Student. I started my love for French actually probably around Year 10, and from then on, my love for this language and desire to keep being dedicated to my craft has always been burning. I first and foremost want to explain that I am not someone who teaches death by PowerPoint and someone who likes to base teaching off past questions constantly. I like to explain why we answer questions the way we should and actually spark a passion into the language. I believe that the key to success in French is very much simple. 50% effort and 50% passion. I'd say that I'd be failing my job if I could not inspire passion into the language and its learning process. I want to be able to explain to you where language can take you, my personal experiences and how language can be the key to the professional life and even the route to bilingualism. I think one of the best things about me is that I am a CURRENT student. This effectively means that I have very recently sat the same exams that you will be potentially sitting, I understand how exam boards like to word and present questions and tips and tricks that will apply to all questions. My relevant knowledge has helped many within the groups of those who I tutor with and they have thanked me for all the help and mentoring that they received from me (Students scoring Grades 7+). I really hope you take the time to consider investing in my services and I am very happy and proactive to answer any questions/queries that you may have in regards to my services.

About the lesson

- The ways that I like to teach is by pushing people out of their comfort zone with their learning, I will be able to explain how the exams are formed and how to master exam technique. I go at the pace of the student, depending on what students do well on and what they do not, I will tailor to their level of French. I will go and walk and talk through different past papers as well as generating my own questions as well as providing help sheets and posters to allow students to structure their answers. I also offer an additional free time to mark work including reading, writing and listening. I am a very patient tutor and I understand that we make mistakes and mistakes are what make us learn so if anything at the start I encourage them! - Each Lesson will be around 1hr long, If at any time you'd like to go any longer, I allow up to 30 mins+ FREE of charge (Strong believer in going the extra mile for progress). - I charge half the amount as regular French Tutors may: Typical Rate of an Academic Tutor: £20-30 p/h My Rate: £10 p/h - My qualifications are as follows: - Grade 9 in AQA GCSE French - Current AQA A Level French Student aiming for A - A* - Experience: - Experience in school as a Lesson Assistant within French Lessons, Many work done around KS3 and GCSE, small group work and some individual mentoring to improve different areas of French Accuracy Skills. - I offer my services to the Following: - All of KS3 (Y7,Y8,Y9) - GCSE Foundation and Higher - I can accommodate for All Exam Boards, I am well aware with the AQA Board, however if you are doing a different one, I politely ask you inform me beforehand so I can generate the perfect resources tailored for your board!
