About Ben
I’m Ben, a final-year Mechanical Engineering Master's student at UCD. I achieved H1s in both Leaving Cert Maths and Physics, including 100% in Maths, and have continued to use these subjects extensively throughout my engineering degree.
I enjoy Maths and Physics and, through my engineering studies, have developed a strong understanding of the underlying concepts and how they are applied to real-world problems. I want to teach grinds because I know that having someone explain a difficult topic in a clear and straightforward way can make a huge difference to a student’s confidence and results.
My aim is to make lessons engaging, understandable and tailored to each student, rather than simply working through the textbook. I want students to leave each lesson with a better understanding of the subject and the confidence to tackle questions independently.

My grinds are tailored to each student’s individual ability, needs and goals. Whether you are struggling with certain topics, looking to improve your understanding, or aiming for a higher grade, lessons will be structured around what will benefit you most.
I focus on understanding the concepts rather than simply memorising methods, while also developing the exam technique needed to maximise marks in the Leaving Cert.
Lessons can include:
* Explaining difficult topics clearly and step-by-step
* ️ Working through exam questions and past papers
* Identifying weaknesses and focusing on areas for improvement
* Providing useful notes, summaries and additional resources
* Developing effective problem-solving and exam techniques
* Tracking progress and adapting lessons as the student improves
I can also provide access to my own study materials alongside relevant Institute and Studyclix resources, giving students a comprehensive set of materials to work from between lessons.
