About Stephanie
My name is Stephanie and I am a languages and linguistics enthusiast. My love for the French began when I was beginning secondary school. Since then, I have visited France, cooked many dishes from French recipes, been to a French concerts and read French books, all purely because I wanted to! I have also discovered that I enjoy teaching others French, as it can, if taught in the right way, lead to a love and appreciation of the language that extends beyond the classroom and exams. It is always a wonderful opportunity to help a fellow student garner this appreciation for themselves.

During the first lesson, I discuss the student's learning strengths. This allows us to decide upon the best approaches to use, such as diary-entry writing, listening to music, reading books, reading poetry, and various others.
Within the lessons, I encourage casual conversation for the first 5 to 10 minutes, followed by a specific topic being targeted for the remaining 20 to 25 minutes (these times can be adjusted according to the length of the lesson). These topics can be chosen by myself, the student, or an external source (books, school teachers, etc.).
I generally work with students aged 13 and up, including adults, as this is the age-group I would be most used to working with, in music, sport and school subjects. However, I am always more than happy to discuss tutoring a younger student, if desired, as I have some (limited) experience through sport and youth work.
