About Miguel

Hi, I'm Miguel, a Mexican composer based in Europe. For 7+ years, I've scored independent short films across the UK, Mexico, and Spain, with music recorded at Air Studios, Angel Studios, and in Budapest.

I trained at UDLAP in Puebla, then Berklee Valencia (MA in Scoring for Film, TV & Video Games) and the Royal College of Music (Artist Diploma). Now I teach what I wish someone had shown me earlier: how to write for orchestra without guessing, make a mockup that sounds real, and score a scene instead of just writing a nice tune.

About the lesson

Every lesson is built around your music, not a fixed syllabus. Bring a track, a scene you want to score, or just an idea, and we'll work on it together.

Depending on where you're at, we can cover:

Writing themes and developing them into full cues
Orchestration and writing for strings, brass, woodwinds and percussion
Building mockups that sound like a real orchestra (Logic Pro, Digital Performer, Pro Tools)
Spotting a scene and writing music that serves the picture
Music theory and arranging, only as much as you need to get the job done

Beginners are welcome, and so are producers moving into orchestral or film work. If you're building a first scoring reel, we can shape it together.

Start with the free 30-minute lesson: you play me something you're working on, and I'll show you three things to improve straight away. No pressure, no sales pitch.

Lessons are online, in English or Spanish, flexible for European and Latin American time zones.
