About Dane
I’m a singing tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Studies. My lessons combine vocal technique with real-world music skills, especially for those interested in recording and songwriting. I use modern tools like digital audio workstations (DAWs), vocal processors, and studio microphones to help students feel confident in both live and studio settings. My teaching is rooted in genres I’m passionate about—R&B, Soul, Acoustic Pop, and Contemporary Christian. I guide students in lyric interpretation, tone shaping, phrasing, and building rich harmonies that reflect their unique voice. Whether you’re a hobbyist exploring your voice or an aspiring recording artist building a demo, I tailor each session to fit your goals. We work on pitch control, emotional delivery, and microphone technique for a polished sound. I also help students understand vocal layering and how to shape a performance that tells a story. Every session is creative, practical, and encouraging. Singing is more than just notes—it’s storytelling. For The Orchestra Member and The Crossover Artist, my singing lessons are designed to strengthen core music literacy and unlock confident, expressive performance. We begin with clear instruction in notation reading—understanding key signatures, rhythms, and melodic direction. Sight singing becomes a weekly focus, using apps and printed scores to build fluency step by step.
Interval training plays a central role. Through call-and-response, piano pairing, and targeted listening exercises, both ear and memory sharpen. Rhythm is approached through body percussion, clapping games, and digital rhythm trainers that enhance timing and coordination. We practice both solo and group harmonies, helping each student hear and hold their part with confidence.
For The Orchestra Member, this method refines ensemble sensitivity and accuracy in complex scores. The Crossover Artist, on the other hand, gains adaptability and pitch precision across genres—from classical to pop and beyond. Both benefit from a strong ear-mind-voice connection developed through repetition and guided feedback.
Every lesson encourages active listening, vocal clarity, and musical awareness. With tools like notation software and sight-singing apps, progress is steady and measurable. By building solid foundations, these musicians expand their expressive range and technical control—turning skill into artistry, one note at a time.
