About Kyoka
I completed a Japanese teaching program at university and received professional training in Japanese language education. I also completed the Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) program at Greystone College in Toronto, which strengthened my understanding of language learning methodologies and effective classroom strategies.
I have experience teaching Japanese classes in Seattle, working with students from diverse backgrounds and different proficiency levels. In addition, I volunteered as a Japanese teacher at a Japanese school in Toronto for over three years, mainly teaching children. Through this experience, I developed strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to create engaging and supportive lessons.
Having lived in Toronto for over 10 years, I am fluent in English and understand the challenges of learning a foreign language. Because I have both studied and taught languages in an international environment, I can clearly explain difficult concepts and guide students with empathy and practical support.
