About Finn
I’m a piano tutor with 2 years of experience and a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Piano Performance. I specialize in advanced jazz piano and love guiding students toward success in programs like Berklee, Juilliard, and other top conservatories. My passion lies in helping each pianist discover both their technical precision and creative voice. In my lessons, we dive deep into improvisation, harmonic vocabulary, rhythmic control, and stylistic fluency. I tailor each session to challenge the student while also supporting their individual goals. Whether it’s mastering standards or building a strong audition portfolio, I focus on long-term growth and artistic expression. I’ve helped students refine complex voicings, improve transcription skills, and perform with clarity and intention. I work especially well with students preparing for theory exams or conservatory-level classical programs. For these learners, I offer clear, customized guidance that supports their academic and performance goals. I also show how theory can be a creative tool, not just something to memorize. By building a strong theoretical foundation, students gain the freedom to compose, improvise, and interpret music more deeply.
