About Tamsin

I am a dedicated piano tutor with over 3 years of teaching experience and a BM in Jazz Piano Performance. My background allows me to approach piano not only as a solo instrument but as a powerful collaborative tool. I specialize in teaching different types of piano accompaniment for vocalists, instrumentalists, and choirs. Working closely with others is at the heart of what I teach. I focus strongly on reading lead sheets, transposing on the fly, and developing rhythmic sensitivity. Adapting quickly to different musical styles is a core part of my training. I believe great accompanists listen as much as they play. My teaching style is student-centered and highly flexible. I work with school students as well as adult and professional accompanists. Each lesson is tailored to real musical needs. I’ve guided students from Beginner to Advanced levels. I’ve also supported Professional and Expert-level musicians. Let’s unlock the art of true musical partnership together.

About the lesson

My teaching approach is focused on helping pianists feel confident, prepared, and expressive. I start by building strong technical foundations. Good technique reduces fear. I guide students through performance anxiety management step by step. We work on breathing, focus, and mental preparation. Stage presence is an important part of my lessons. Students learn how to sit, move, and communicate through music. I teach practical memorization techniques that reduce last-minute stress. Preparation for recitals and auditions is structured and clear. I support students who perform under pressure, such as exams or services. We practice performing regularly. This builds confidence over time. My goal is to help students perform with confidence and artistry. Music should feel powerful, not frightening.
