About Charlie

I am a passionate and experienced tutor with a strong background in physics and mathematics. My dedication to academic excellence is reflected in my achievements, including medalling at the prestigious 2024 International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT, also known as the Physics World Cup), earning a silver medal at the New Zealand Young Physicists’ Tournament (NZYPT), and being a two-time finalist in the New Zealand Physics and Mathematics Competition (NZPMC).

I have completed A Level Physics and extensively studied undergraduate physics in preparation for IYPT, giving me a deep understanding of the subject matter and its applications. My experiences in competitive and academic environments have honed my ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.

I am committed to helping students build confidence, master challenging topics, and achieve their academic goals. My goal is to inspire a love for learning and problem-solving in every student I work with.

About the lesson

I believe that learning is most effective when it is engaging, personalized, and goal-oriented. My approach to tutoring focuses on understanding each student’s unique needs, strengths, and challenges. I tailor my teaching methodology to suit their learning style, incorporating clear explanations, interactive problem-solving, and real-world examples to make concepts relatable. I also emphasize developing strong foundational skills and fostering critical thinking to build confidence and independence in learning.

Each lesson typically lasts 1 to 1.5 hours, providing ample time to thoroughly explore topics, address questions, and consolidate understanding without overwhelming the student.

I bring a strong background in academic excellence and a passion for teaching. My experience includes tutoring students across various subjects and levels, from foundational to advanced coursework, helping them achieve their goals in school and beyond.

My lessons are designed for students from pre-high school to undergraduate levels who are eager to improve their academic performance, prepare for exams, or deepen their understanding of a subject. My rates are $40 per hour. For packs, 10% discount is provided for 5 classes, and 15% discount is provided for 10 classes.
