About Marcos

I'm Marcos, a photographer with over 10 years of experience capturing people, stories, and emotions through my lens. Originally from Brazil and now based in British Columbia, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients — from families and couples to professionals and entrepreneurs. But beyond photographing others, what truly fulfills me is helping people learn how to create with their own eyes and hands. Photography changed the way I see the world, and now I love passing that perspective on to others. As a tutor, I’m calm, patient, and focused on helping you grow with confidence. I don’t believe in overwhelming technical jargon — I believe in clarity, creativity, and building a strong foundation. Whether you're just starting out or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to walk with you every step of the way. I’ll help you understand your camera, see light in a whole new way, and feel proud of the images you create. Together, we’ll build both your skills and your confidence — frame by frame.

English

As a photography tutor, my goal is to make learning simple, empowering, and inspiring. I believe that photography is not just about mastering a camera — it's about learning to see the world differently. My teaching approach is hands-on, student-centred, and rooted in real-life practice.

Teaching Methodology & Techniques:
I combine technical guidance with creative exploration. Whether you're picking up a camera for the first time or looking to improve your lighting or composition, I teach in a way that’s visual, practical, and engaging. I emphasize:

- Understanding your camera (from Auto to Manual)
- Light awareness (natural and artificial)
- Composition techniques and storytelling
- Confidence through practice and feedback

A Typical Lesson
Each session runs between 60 to 90 minutes and may include:

- Warm-up conversation – What you’ve shot lately, any questions
- Theory segment – Clear explanations with visual examples
- Hands-on practice – Shooting exercises (indoors or outdoors)
- Feedback & Q&A – Review photos, correct, guide, and inspire

We might shoot with natural light one day, explore flash the next, or break down how to build a cohesive photo set.

What Sets Me Apart
What sets me apart is my ability to create a safe, encouraging space where students feel seen and supported. I bring not only 10+ years of experience, but also a deep passion for storytelling, a calm teaching presence, and a genuine love for helping others grow.

I believe in celebrating progress — not perfection — and showing how technical tools can unlock emotional and powerful images.

Who These Lessons Are For
My lessons are ideal for:

Beginners who want to learn the basics of photography and shoot in manual mode

Aspiring content creators need better portraits or brand visuals

Intermediate photographers exploring lighting (flash/studio or natural)

Anyone who wants to feel more confident with their camera and creative direction

Whether you use a DSLR, mirrorless, or even a phone, if you want to understand light, story, and style, you're welcome here.
