About Jovilyn Jay

Hello! I am a licensed-minded, approachable, and patient Agricultural and Biosystems Engineer with a passion for helping students learn and understand Mathematics. I believe that Math does not have to be difficult or intimidating when it is explained clearly and taught with patience.

I can help students strengthen their foundations in basic arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percentages, geometry, algebra, and trigonometry. My approach focuses on breaking down complex problems into simple, manageable steps and using practical examples to make lessons easier to understand.

As an engineer, I have developed analytical and problem-solving skills that I bring into my teaching. I aim to create a friendly and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and learning at their own pace.

About the lesson

As an Agricultural and Biosystems Engineer, I understand that Math can sometimes feel difficult and confusing. My goal is to make learning Math fun, simple, and easy to understand. I explain concepts step by step, use relatable real-life examples, and adjust my teaching style based on each student's learning pace and needs.

I encourage students to ask questions, practice solving problems, and learn from their mistakes without feeling embarrassed. I believe that with the right guidance, patience, and practice, every student can improve their Math skills and build confidence.

Each tutoring session begins with a quick review of previous lessons to check the student's understanding. Next, I introduce the new topic using simple explanations and examples. We then solve practice problems together before allowing the student to try independently.

At the end of each session, we review the key concepts, address any difficulties, and work on additional exercises if needed. My goal is not just to help students get the correct answers but also to understand the process behind them.

What makes me different is my patience, approachable teaching style, and engineering background. I understand the importance of Math in everyday life and in solving practical problems. I strive to create a comfortable learning environment where students feel supported, motivated, and confident enough to ask questions.

I focus on understanding rather than memorization, helping students develop problem-solving skills they can use both inside and outside the classroom.

My lessons are ideal for elementary and junior high school students who need extra guidance, practice, or support in Mathematics. I can help students learn and review basic arithmetic, fractions, decimals, percentages, geometry, basic algebra, trigonometry fundamentals, and other introductory Math topics.

Whether you need help understanding a difficult lesson, preparing for an exam, completing practice exercises, or strengthening your Math foundation, I am here to guide you at your own pace. Together, we can make Math less stressful, more enjoyable, and easier to understand!
