About Chengwei

Hello! My name is Chengwei. I am a native Mandarin speaker from Sichuan, China, and I am currently living and working in London.
I am an artist and educator with a deep interest in language, culture, and creative learning. Growing up in China and now living in the UK has given me a rich cross-cultural perspective, and I enjoy sharing not only the Chinese language but also the cultural stories and everyday life behind it.
I speak standard Mandarin and can also share insights into regional culture and expressions from my home region in southwest China. My teaching style is patient, relaxed, and supportive. I believe language learning works best when it is engaging, practical, and connected to real life.
Outside teaching, I work across writing, drawing, and community-based projects. I love cooking, gardening, and exploring plants and food cultures. These interests often inspire my teaching and help make lessons more lively and meaningful.
Whether you want to improve your conversational Mandarin, prepare for exams, or simply explore Chinese language and culture, I would be happy to support your learning journey.

My lessons can include not only speaking, listening, reading, and writing, but also cultural elements such as food, art, poetry, daily life expressions, and contemporary Chinese culture.
