About Tsubasa

Hello! My name is Tsubasa, and I am a native Japanese speaker currently living in Canada.

I have spent many years learning English as a second language, so I understand the challenges, frustrations, and achievements that come with learning a new language. This experience helps me explain Japanese in a clear and practical way while creating a supportive learning environment.

Before becoming a tutor, I worked in digital marketing and collaborated with people from different countries and cultures. I enjoy meeting people from around the world and helping them build confidence in their language skills.

About the lesson

My lessons are designed for beginner and lower-intermediate learners who want to build a strong foundation in Japanese while gaining confidence in speaking.

I provide clear explanations in English and understand the challenges of learning a foreign language because I learned English as a second language myself. Whether your goal is travel, daily conversation, studying in Japan, or simply enjoying Japanese culture, I will tailor each lesson to your needs and pace.

I can teach using the Genki textbook series, which is one of the most popular Japanese learning resources for English speakers. I also create my own grammar explanation slides and visual materials. If there is a specific grammar point you would like to understand, I can prepare personalized materials and explain it in a simple and practical way.

My goal is not only to teach Japanese grammar but also to help you understand how Japanese people actually communicate in real life. Lessons are relaxed, interactive, and customized to help you achieve your goals.
