About LUIGI

I was born in Sicily, Italy, where I completed my studies through my university degree and Ph.D. in Biology. I moved to the United States at the age of 28, where I founded two biotechnology companies and published 47 scientific papers, along with numerous patents. Now that I am semi-retired, I teach Italian, review grant applications for the National Institutes of Health, play the drums, and work on various home renovation and improvement projects.

About the lesson

I am a native Italian speaker teaching students worldwide in English. My lessons go beyond grammar and vocabulary to include Italian culture as a whole—including cooking. Learning Italian means learning how Italians think, act, and express themselves. My teaching style is light, informal, and engaging, using songs, articles, and videos to make learning enjoyable.

In-Person Lessons
In-person lessons can be held near Bryn Mawr PA, such as at the local library or coffee shop, at no additional charge.
For locations more than 3 miles from Bryn Mawr, I charge an additional $45 travel fee per session. Travel is limited to locations within 20 miles (one way) of Bryn Mawr.
