About Catherine

I have been teaching guitar for over 12 years, guiding students at all levels to reach their full potential. My background includes an Associate Degree in Guitar Performance, which has given me a strong foundation in both technique and musical understanding. I specialize in preparing students for Rockschool, Trinity exams, and university-level guitar programs. My passion lies in unlocking each student’s unique performance and creative abilities. I believe everyone has a story to tell through music, and my goal is to help you express it with confidence. Whether you want to master technical skills or develop your own style, I tailor lessons to fit your goals. I focus on building solid fundamentals while encouraging creativity and expression. Every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching to suit your pace and learning style. I enjoy seeing my students grow not just as players but as musicians. Together, we work on technique, theory, and performance skills to prepare you for any stage or exam. Music should be fun, inspiring, and personal — that’s what I bring to every lesson.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on helping each student grow their love for guitar while building strong skills. I believe in learning through playing songs that inspire you. We explore not just guitar techniques but also songwriting, lyric accompaniment, and harmony to make your music richer. Expressive dynamics are important too — I teach how to bring feeling and life into every note.

I encourage creativity, helping students write their own songs and use guitar to express their emotions. Together, we work on understanding music theory in a simple way that fits your style.
