About Cherry Mae

Hello! My name is Cherry Mae, and I am a passionate, dedicated, and TEFL-certified English tutor from the Philippines with 2 years and 6 months of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Social Work from Western Mindanao State University and am a Registered Social Worker (RSW). My educational background has strengthened my communication, patience, empathy, and interpersonal skills, which I apply to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

Throughout my teaching journey, I have worked with students of different ages and learning levels, helping them improve their English pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, and speaking skills.

As a teacher, I believe that every student has unique abilities and learning needs. That is why I make my lessons interactive, engaging, and personalized. I encourage my students to express themselves confidently, ask questions, and learn from their mistakes without feeling pressured.

I am patient, approachable, enthusiastic, and committed to helping my students achieve their learning goals. My priority is to ensure that every student feels comfortable, motivated, and excited to learn English.

With Teacher Cherry Mae, learning English is not just about studying grammar and vocabulary—it's about building confidence, improving communication, and enjoying every step of the learning journey!

I look forward to meeting you and helping you become a confident English speaker!

About the lesson

Hello! My name is Cherry Mae, and I am a passionate, friendly, and TEFL-certified English tutor from the Philippines with 2 years and 6 months of experience teaching English as a Second Language (ESL).

My Teaching Methods and Techniques

I believe that learning English should be fun, interactive, and enjoyable! My teaching approach is student-centered, meaning I adjust my lessons according to each student's age, learning level, interests, and goals.

I use engaging activities, visual aids, storytelling, interactive conversations, and real-life examples to help students develop their English communication skills. I focus on improving pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, reading, listening, and speaking confidence.

My Typical Lesson Plan

Warm-Up (5 minutes): Friendly greetings, simple questions, and a quick review of previous lessons.

Lesson Introduction (5 minutes): Introduce new vocabulary, grammar, or conversation topics.

Interactive Learning (10–15 minutes): Practice through conversations, games, reading exercises, and engaging activities.

Speaking Practice (5–10 minutes): Encourage students to express their ideas using complete English sentences.

Feedback and Review (5 minutes): Provide positive feedback, correct mistakes gently, and review important learning points.
