About Kieran

BA (Hons) Writing for Performance from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. SEN tutor, department lead, drama facilitator, PGCE Secondary English at Edge Hill University (24/25). Master of Education, Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. E-learning lead for a national organisation based in Scotland.

I am a practicing teacher, youth facilitator and creative practitioner who has experience leading education programs for national charities and workshops in drama and poetry for people of all ages. I am a published poet and playwright. I have a keen understanding of the professional world of drama and publishing, as well as developmental strategies for academic success for all students. I have worked closely, and been recognised for, my work with SEND/SEMH young people, as well as the LGBTQIA+ community and young people from socio-economically vulnerable backgrounds. Currently diversifying my professional portfolio, including in the development and leadership of youth panels working alongside government bodies in the UK.

About the lesson

My approach stems from practice based research. I invite a holistic, calm and eager environment to learn. You will be taught key contextual knowledge from subject specific areas which are backed by dramaturgs and pedagogues alike. We will then delve into language, its uses and purposes in your desired area, and apply it to a range of tasks used in class and the community, born out of my own professional development. You will not only leave a better writer and orator, but you will have a sound contextual understanding of the literature and language covered, with knowledge of the political, social and moral intersectionality's - as outlined in AO3 of the English National Curriculum.
