About Seb
I'm a highly motivational teacher whose first interest is encouraging the love of music and playing music. Music isn't just about learning the right notes in the right order. It's first and foremost about expression: understanding how to express yourself just right, and how to understand the ways other people express themselves using this one universal language. This is why I teach, and this is what I teach.
I have been performing for over 20 years, and teaching on and off for 12 years. I teach Guitar, Singing, Ukulele, Piano, Music Theory and Composition; if you're learning any more unusual instruments that are guitar-shaped, there's a good chance I can help you with those too.
I have an MA in Film Music Composition from Bristol University and ABRSM certificates for Grade 8 Guitar (Pass) and Singing (Distinction), Grade 5 Piano (Pass) and Music Theory (Merit). I've been a professional musician since long before graduating, singing in cathedral choirs and playing guitar recitals, as well as being in several rock bands, which I continue to do with great enjoyment.
I'm happy teaching many styles of Singing, Guitar or Composition, from Heavy Metal to Classical, Folk to EDM. If you want to try a different style or want to perfect your own style, or perhaps you just want to try an instrument for the first time, I would be more than happy to guide you from humble beginnings to becoming a confident and versatile musician capable of great things!

I would love to teach you to compose music in whatever fashion you might want to do so: whether you're interested in basic songwriting, orchestration and arranging, or more ambitious long-form compositions, I can help you through a variety of methods to come up with something both satisfyingly original and also true to your vision.
I have a very wide knowledge base regarding music and compositional practices, and I'm constantly looking for new music with new approaches and new outcomes, as well as trying out my new ideas with my own compositions. I love music in a vast and detailed array of ways, and I'd love to share that love with you and help you create music that you love and can be proud of, whatever that might be.

Seb is a highly skilled and professional tutor. He teaches with great patience and is incredibly passionate about his craft. During my time as his student I learned so much about music in general as well as learning to play the guitar and improving my singing. I would highly recommend Seb as a tutor to anybody looking to either start from scratch, or to continue their learning.
