About Naman

About me

I'm Naman, a B.Com (Hons) graduate from Hindu College, University of Delhi. Commerce and economics have been my subjects since school, and by the time I got to college, I already knew I wanted to teach them, not just study them.

I started tutoring during my own degree, which meant I was learning and teaching at the same time. That turned out to be the biggest advantage. I understood exactly where students get stuck because I was solving the same problems myself, just a year or two ahead. Four years in, I still teach with that same mindset, and I've worked closely with Class 12 students on both board prep and entrance exams.

In 2023, I scored a 100 percentile in Economics and Accountancy in CUET, which is when I realized teaching wasn't just something I enjoyed, it was something I was actually good at. Since then, I've taught students one on one and in groups, currently running a live batch of 100 students at HeyStudent. I also built HeyStudent's Instagram community up to 60k followers, sharing commerce content and connecting with students beyond the classroom. That account is currently inactive, but the teaching and the students behind it never stopped.

What keeps me doing this is simple. I like seeing a student go from dreading a subject to actually getting it. That shift, from confusion to clarity, is the part of teaching I care about most, and it's what I try to bring into every class I take.

About the lesson

Most tutors teach you the syllabus. I've actually lived it, and recently. I scored a 100 percentile in Economics and Accountancy in CUET 2023, coming out of Hindu College, University of Delhi, one of the top commerce colleges in the country. That means I'm not teaching from a textbook I read years ago. I know exactly what today's exams expect, because I cleared them myself, recently, at the highest level possible.

I've been teaching for 4 years, starting alongside my own degree, and I currently run a live online batch of 100 students at HeyStudent. Along the way, I've personally mentored close to 18 students who went on to secure admission into SRCC and other top North Campus colleges, and helped a student who was struggling with a compartment in Class 12 Economics turn it into a strong 65%.

Why students choose my class: I teach concept first, so you're not memorizing, you're actually understanding. Every topic is taught the way it's actually asked in boards and CUET, not in abstract theory. I'm also young enough to know exactly what pressure and confusion feel like on the other side of the exam, and I use that to teach smarter, not just harder. And despite running larger batches, I make sure doubts get cleared properly, not just noted down.
