About Nina
I am a dedicated chess tutor with 7 years of experience teaching school, college, and working professional students. Over the years, I have successfully guided 200–250 students, helping them develop strong strategic thinking, problem-solving skills, and confidence in their gameplay. My teaching philosophy is centered on patience, support, and practical learning. I focus on making chess understandable and enjoyable by combining theory with real-life examples, case studies, and interactive exercises. Accountability is important, so I track progress and provide clear guidance for improvement. Compassion and patience are at the heart of my teaching, creating a supportive environment where mistakes become learning opportunities. Flexibility allows me to adjust teaching methods, using puzzles, exercises, and interactive games to keep learning engaging. I also incorporate related games like backgammon, checkers, Risk, and Settlers of Catan to strengthen strategic thinking and pattern recognition. Students develop practical skills for tournaments and casual play alike. Every session is designed to build confidence, critical thinking, and a love for the game. My goal is for students to enjoy chess while steadily improving their abilities and preparing for real-world challenges.
