About Richard
I have been training in the martial arts for over 40 years and have had to use what I have learnt on many occasions. I travel to Japan to train with my teachers whenever possible and treat my personal training as if I am a student of Budo before I am a teacher and finally I am always searching out how I can personally improve which in turn helps my students grow as well.

Using Budo techniques from over 9 different traditional Japanese martial arts schools you learn basic, intermediate and advanced waza/techniques which teach you realistic methods to train and learn. Each student learns in their own way and at their own pace so private lessons are the best way to go for many. What is most important is that you learn something effective, not pretty, something that will work against anyone regardless of their fighting style. Survival is key and to keep going is essential.
