About JAMIE

As a qualified and experienced Algebra tutor, I am committed to helping students master foundational and advanced algebraic concepts with confidence and clarity. With a strong background in mathematics and over 6 years of tutoring experience, I’ve worked with learners of all ages and levels—from middle school to college and adult education. My teaching style is patient, structured, and tailored to each student’s unique needs. I believe that anyone can understand Algebra with the right guidance and teaching style. My approach is patient, structured, and focused on helping students build a strong foundation while developing problem-solving confidence.

I begin by assessing the student's current level to identify strengths and learning gaps.

I explain concepts using simple language, real-life examples, and visual aids like number lines or equation diagrams.

I break problems down into manageable steps, helping students understand not just how to solve, but why each step is taken.

I use guided practice, active questioning, and positive reinforcement to promote confidence and independent thinking.

A Typical Lesson Plan
Warm-Up (5 mins) – Quick review of prior content or a check-in quiz.

Concept Introduction (10–15 mins) – Clear explanation of a new concept with examples.

Guided Practice (10–15 mins) – We solve problems together, step-by-step.

Independent Practice (10 mins) – Student solves problems with support as needed.

Wrap-Up (5 mins) – Recap, key takeaways, and tips for homework or self-study.
