About Paul

I’m Paul Smith, a professional graphic designer with over 25 years of experience and a deep love for visual communication. I run my own design business, specialise in vector graphics, and have taught Adobe Illustrator to beginners and professionals alike; both one-to-one and in classroom settings.

Teaching is something I truly enjoy. I’ve always believed that creativity should be empowering, not intimidating, and that anyone can learn to master the tools of great design. Whether you're brand new to Illustrator or looking to refine your skills, I’m here to help you grow your confidence and take your creative work to the next level.

About the lesson

My lessons are practical, engaging, and tailored to your individual goals. Whether you're a beginner learning the basics or a business owner wanting to create your own marketing assets, I’ll guide you step-by-step in a clear and encouraging way.

Lessons are structured around hands-on projects that make the learning stick. You’ll learn professional workflows, smart shortcuts, and how to think like a designer – not just how to click the right buttons. I share real-world tips from my career, and I make sure every session leaves you with skills you can use straight away.

You'll also get custom Illustrator files to practise with between sessions, and I’m always happy to adapt the pace to suit your style of learning. My goal is simple: to help you become confident, independent, and creatively empowered in Adobe Illustrator.
