About Prakruthi

I am a law student who loves literature. Language is very crucial for communication which forms the backbone of any society. English, being the most popular language in today's world, provides huge opportunities for anyone well versed in it and I would love to share my knowledge in this field with others.

About the lesson

My teaching method is a little unconventional but effective. English is a subject that cannot simply be taught from a textbook. While I understand the significance of textbooks, I take on a multi dimensional approach to make the student feel comfortable with the language.

FOR BEGINNERS reading texts of different lengths and genres will make the student versatile and quick to adapt. I don't wish to bombard the student with a scary new language, instead I want the student to feel at home with English, like a second native language that flows with ease.

Regardless of the age of the child, grammar and comprehension are given high priority. This is followed by ease and comfort of writing and reading.

At the end of the course the child sees an improvement in:

1. Vocabulary
2. Versatility
3. Comprehension
4. Grammar
5. Reading speed
6. Sentence structuring.
7. Creative writing

If you are ALREADY COMFORTABLE with the language but need help with a DEEPER UNDERSTANDING of English (Say, you can easily read fiction but classics confuse you or you can't seem to grasp certain poetry that others find amusing), I pick out a highly curated text you might find complicated and break it down. We trace your reading patterns and pin point what parts throw you off. With practice and the right kind of reading material you should be easily able to comprehend these 'confusing' texts in no time.

DEPENDING on your GOALS, these methods can change. If your focus is creative writing or document drafting or poetry I will certainly come up with a personalized plan for you. For example, I may ask you to write a sample on article and then come up with a list of your strengths and weaknesses. I want to create an environment that promotes creativity and won't restrain you to my own ideas or writing style. I want you bring out your full potential and will provide you with all the resources you need for the same.

Details

My classes are online only for security purposes but because these classes require a lot of preparation and planning I will charge a 25% cancellation fee if I'm not notified atleast 12 hours prior to the session. A 10% cancellation fee is levied on cancellation with notification given 12-24 hours prior to the session.
