About Sidney

I'm a Law graduate with AAA A-Levels in English, Classical Studies, and Sociology. Alongside my legal and compliance work, I've always loved mentoring and helping others grow in confidence—especially when it comes to writing, analysis, and making sense of complex ideas. My experience ranges from being a Childline Counsellor to working in client care and legal advice roles, all of which have sharpened my ability to listen, support and explain clearly without judgement. I’ve also taught abroad in Colombia and Costa Rica, and I bring that same global perspective and adaptability into my lessons. I work especially well with students who might be anxious, unsure, or feel "behind"—my goal is to make you feel capable, motivated, and in control of your own progress. Whether you're preparing for A-Levels or just want to get better at essay writing, I’m here to help.

About the lesson

I offer supportive, engaging, and results-driven online tutoring in English, Classical Studies, and Sociology (GCSE & A-Level). My sessions are fully tailored to each student’s goals, learning style, and exam board. Here’s what to expect: Initial Assessment & Planning We start with a relaxed consultation to identify your strengths, challenges, and goals. I’ll review your past work (if available), and we’ll create a personalised plan focused on progress and confidence. Interactive Lessons Using Zoom and Google Docs (or your preferred platform), I create a collaborative space where we analyse texts, break down theories, and build up writing skills. I use screen sharing, live annotation, and structured exercises to keep lessons clear and engaging. Essay Practice & Feedback You’ll develop strong essay-writing skills through guided planning, model paragraphs, and timed practice. I offer detailed feedback with actionable tips to help you improve steadily and understand exactly what examiners look for. Exam Strategy & Revision Skills We’ll cover key content, exam technique, and how to revise effectively. I provide custom revision materials, mind maps, and flashcards where helpful. Support Beyond the Lesson I’m available between sessions for questions, quick clarifications, and additional resources. I aim to create a calm, encouraging environment where students feel motivated and capable.
