About Miles
I am a current high school Latin teacher with 7 years of secondary school experience. I teach all levels, from beginners to pre-AP level, and have tutored online learners in the past.
Before my time as a Latin teacher I worked in special education as a 1-on-1 paraprofessional. I alos spent 6 months teaching English as a foreign language in Vietnam.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Classics in 2012, and am currently working on my Masters in Education at Boston College.

Like all good teachers, my styles and methods are student-centered. I first gauge a learner's prior knowledge before developing lessons and experiences for them.
Based on that assessment, lessons consist of introductions to vocabulary and syntax, proceeding to numerous reading activities, engaging learners with the content in multiple ways and levels. understanding is checked throughout, and assessed at the end of the lesson with exercises related to the content we encounter.
While I believe in repetition of forms, I also believe that repetition should be hidden behind game formats and exercise differentiation. My lessons are designed for beginning and low-intermediate Latin learners, as well as anyone looking for English grammar help.
