You are here because you want to become stronger in French, and for that, I commend you.

Having worked with students in France and in the US, one thing we all have in common is potential. With the right teacher, you can do anything. That's why I want to be the person to show you that you don't need to rely on Duo Lingo and awkward textbooks in order to speak French.

Humans are remarkable because we really can learn any language as long as we approach it in a way that makes sense to us. We learn through context and situations, not dry grammar lessons. Anyone can open a French dictionary and tell you how to say "sky scraper" in French (gratte-ciel), but very few people can guide you to have real, natural conversations in French, which is precisely what we are going to do in my lessons.

Bonjour tout le monde! Moi c’est Matt, j’ai 28 ans, je viens des états unis, et je suis la pour vous enseigner le français!

If you didn’t understand that, you’re in the right place. My name is Matt, I’m 28 years old, from the United States, and I’m here to teach you French.

Do you want to become more confident in French? Do you have a test coming up? Are you tired of relying on that green owl and awkward language textbooks? Well, that’s what I’m here for.

I’ve got just under two years of formal teaching experience under my belt. Right after graduating college in 2018, I flew to Lyon, France to work as an English teacher to work as an English teacher for 9 months through a French government sponsored program. Shortly after coming back to the US, I taught French for 8 months.

Now French can be difficult, but if you work with me, I think you’ll be surprised to see just how similar to English it can be. Don’t get me wrong, learning a new language can be intimidating, but it’s a lot of fun and you’re capable of more than you think you are.
