About Emily
I am an experienced KS1 teacher working in an infant school. Working as a full time teacher in a classroom means that I know a range of efficient teaching strategies that I can tailor to your child. I am able to quickly identify the areas that children need slightly more help in and can tailor lessons to help them made good progress. I have a friendly approach to teaching and like to ensure that children enjoy my lessons.

Hello, my name is Emily.
I can teach any subject at Early Years (Year R) or a KS1 Level (Year 1 and 2).
I have a lot of experience in preparing children for the Year 1 Phonics screening check. I am knowledgeable on the phonemes (sounds you say in the word) that the children are required to know for the phonics screening as well as how to help them use these sounds to read the words accurately.
I also specialise in early reading. I am able to work with children right at the start of their reading journey where they are learning graphemes (sounds written down in the word) to formulate words all the way through to the comprehension skills (inference, prediction etc..) that begin to develop towards the end of KS1. I have supported many children through their reading journey to take them from early reading to the point where they can start to develop comprehension skills.
I am also able to support children with the Year 2 SATS. Being a Year 2 teacher myself, I am very knowledgeable in what skills are required for children to feel confident in the SATS. I am able to support with tutoring for the Reading and Maths SATS.
