About Linus

I did my Master's at the University of Nottingham, and honestly, living and studying in English every day was one of the hardest things I've ever done. There were moments I felt completely lost, and that feeling never left me. It's exactly why I teach the way I do. I genuinely understand what it feels like to sit in front of someone and not know how to express yourself, and I never want my students to feel alone in that.
While I was in the UK, I spent nearly a year helping friends learn Korean. What started as casual hangouts slowly turned into something more, weekly conversations where they went from not knowing a single word to laughing at Korean jokes and catching cultural references they never would have noticed before. Watching that happen was honestly one of the most rewarding things I've experienced, and it's what pushed me to start teaching properly. That was two years ago now.

About the lesson

The way I teach is pretty simple. I want you to actually use Korean, not just study it. Every lesson is built around conversation and real-life situations, because I think the best way to learn a language is to speak it, even when it's messy and imperfect. We'll work on grammar and vocabulary, but always in a way that connects to how people actually talk.
Lessons are 50 to 60 minutes, and a typical session looks something like this: we'll start with a warm-up chat or a quick review, move into the target grammar or expressions for the day, practice speaking together, work through a real-life conversation scenario, and finish with feedback and corrections.
If you're a complete beginner, don't worry. We'll start from scratch with Hangul, pronunciation, and basic sentence patterns. If you're already at an intermediate or advanced level, we'll focus on sounding more natural, understanding cultural nuance, and getting rid of that "textbook Korean" feeling.
My lessons are open to teenagers and adults of all levels. Whether you've never heard a word of Korean or you just want to finally feel confident speaking it, you're in the right place.
