About Maria
I currently study Chemistry and Biomedicine at Kings College, one of the worlds leading universities for science.
I have taught biology and chemistry up to GCSE level helping get their grades within the highest percentiles.
I myself studied Biology and Chemistry at a prestige grammar school in which I obtained two As. Having experienced this personally, I understand what challenges students faces and which areas prove to cause the most difficulty.

Despite what many pupils think, Science is cool and awesome! You just need the right teacher.
When it comes to learning, the student should interact with the subject instead of just cramming facts. I have realised this leads to a greater understanding and enjoyment. Because science is actually really fun.
I have experience teaching students of all ages and levels, from grammar school students to students with behavioural and learning disabilities.
My teaching style is flexible- I adopt a fluid style which caters to the individual student as everyone learns differently. Discussions and critical thinking within my sessions are encouraged: I've noticed engagement is what yields the best results. My tutoring style is interactive instead of dictating and I will encourage the students to find answers for themselves instead of feeding it to them.
Weekly mini quizzes are also used to ensure my students are staying on top of their work-load and understanding what is being taught to them.
