About Marie
I am a junior pursuing her Psychology undergraduate (and ultimately my Masters!) degree at University of North Texas. Took my first core curricular writing class here and expected to fail it. Surprise: I ended up loving it!!!
I am of Hispanic-Latina descent yet struggle to converse in a Spanish conversation
Was born and raised a diehard Californian. My earliest childhood memories consist of singing with my dad at the piano, skinning my knees daily on my backyard playground, writing poetry and unfinished novels.
Fun facts: I love mint chip ice cream. I can do the splits. My favorite colors are purple and yellow.
I find it fun to reprint my essays and write all over them in pen just for the heck of it

I am typically a very organized person when it comes to English and coaching in English skills. My few experiences in coaching this topic consisted of reviewing any essays or outlines and first finding out ways to fix them to fit the rules of grammar, flow, and Structure. My first order of business, of course, is to be flexible and working with the writer’s individual needs, voice, and writing style, and helping a student write in such a way that this style and voice are enhanced, rather than stifled.
