About Joy

I am a graduate of one of the top ballet schools in the world, Perm State Ballet School, Russia, in 2019. Upon graduating, I received a diploma as a professional ballet artist and as a ballet teacher. I also received an A* in Dance GCSE and trained in the CAT programme at Trinity Laban. Since graduating, I have been fortunate enough to join touring companies, travelling and performing all over the world to places including Paris, Shanghai in China, Finland, Johannesburg and Cape Town in South Africa, Poland, Belgium, Scandinavia and all over the USA (48 states) and the UK gracing some of the world's most renowned stages and performing for the likes of Boris Johnson, Mr Bean and Joanna Lumley, featuring in her documentary. ◈ I offer online ballet lessons from the comfort of your own home, no need to travel! ◈ I also offer and have experience in teaching body conditioning and strengthening classes, as well as stretching and flexibility classes for dancers. ◈ I am open to coaching for variations I have experience in several methods of ballet including: ◈ Vaganova method, receiving a diploma as a professional ballet artist and ballet teacher ◈ ISTD method which I received Distinction in all exams ◈ RAD method up to Advanced 2 ◈ Cecchetti method receiving a place at Cecchetti Junior and Senior Associates and the prestigious programme of Cecchetti scholars. ◈ I have taught various times for the Vacani School of Dance, giving masterclasses and talks to children of different age groups. ◈ I have experience in teaching in both groups and one-to-one. ◈ I am motivated, committed and delighted to share the skills and knowledge I have with my students.

About the lesson

◈ I will assess the level of your dancing and come up with a strategic lesson plan according to your specific level. ◈ I tailor the classes to your individual needs ◈ I will provide classes based on the Vaganova Russian Method. ◈ I will work with you regardless of your age or level. I open my arms to complete beginners, intermediate or advanced level. ◈ I will set up extra classes with consent from you with your very own personalised, strengthening and stretching class to complement your ballet training. ◈ I aim to help you as much as possible whether you want to focus on a specific area like your technique, musicality, or whether you just want to take it on as a fun hobby. ◈ I also offer private lessons on one to one basis online. ◈ I am flexible with lesson times.

I look forward to working with you! In our first lesson, I will provide you with a ballet class within which I will analyse your level and leave time for a personal discussion where I will go through with you a plan forward, feel free to ask me questions during this time! ◆ Lessons are always to be paid in advance and paid in full. ◆ Lessons can be rearranged with no problem for a different date or time with at least 24 hours' notice. ◆ Lessons cancelled within 24 hours cannot be refunded.

Perfect! Joy was very encouraging and supported me in attempting things that I did not think I was capable of, which was lovely for my confidence and my progress. Joy was very friendly and patient despite the techincal difficulties we experienced, and she has a great attention to detail.

Teaching Sophia was such a pleasure, she is a lovely person and I can tell that she really enjoys ballet through her dancing. She has a positive attitude towards everything and responds to corrections very well. I look forward to our lessons and I can't wait to see her progression.

Perfect! She is excellent！She is the best Ballet teacher I’ve had on Superprof. Joy is the perfect teacher for me because I want to improve my strength, flexibility, and technique (basically everything you need for doing proper ballet). The conditioning she gave me significantly improved my turnout and strength with 2 lessons only. During barre and centre, she taught me to improve my posture and the correct way to use the muscle. She also pointed out things I’m lack of straight away even though it’s online. The lessons with her are much better than any other classes you would have normally in studios, because Joy can actually make you improve!! It’s worth your money!

My daughter is really enjoying Joy’s weekly ballet and body conditioning classes. Joy is a skilled teacher who loves breaking down everything to make sure that my daughter understands the steps and she has a huge eye for detail making sure that the steps and movements are executed accurately and properly. With Joy’s lessons my daughter has made very good progress in such a short time. She has not only helped my daughter gain more confidence in her ballet classes but also helped her gain strength in her muscles through her tailored conditioning classes. She has also gone the extra mile for my daughter, finding interesting Musical Theatre events for her to be involved with during the lockdown, as my daughter pursues her dream career in Musical Theatre.
