About Menusha

I have over 5 years of experience in the field of education, specializing in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) to students from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. My academic credentials include a Bachelor's degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), which provided me with a solid foundation in language acquisition, grammar, and pedagogical techniques. Additionally, I hold a Diploma in Teaching Primary School Children, which further equips me with skills to adapt my teaching strategies to younger learners.

About the lesson

My teaching journey has been diverse and international. I have taught in several countries, including India, Sri Lanka, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi. Each of these experiences has shaped my ability to adjust my teaching methods to meet the needs of students from different cultural contexts. In Dubai and Sri Lanka, I had the opportunity to teach IELTS preparation courses, helping students improve their language proficiency in academic and general contexts. This experience allowed me to develop a deep understanding of the test structure and the specific language skills required for success in IELTS.

At present, I am teaching at a reputable school in Abu Dhabi, where I continue to refine my teaching strategies and engage with students from diverse backgrounds. My role involves developing and implementing lesson plans that focus on building language skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. I am also adept at using modern technology and digital tools to enhance the learning experience and foster a collaborative classroom environment.

In terms of certifications, I have completed a range of professional development courses, including specialized workshops on language assessment, teaching methodology, and the use of technology in the classroom. My teaching methodology is student-centered, focusing on communicative language teaching (CLT) to help learners use English in real-life situations.
