About Jocelyn

My Teaching Credentials
After earning my Bachelor's in English and Spanish from the College of Charleston, and a Master's in Secondary Education from the American College of Education, I also received certifications in bilingual education, English as a second language, and middle grades education.

Additionally, I was invited to be a member of the instructional leadership team at Brighton Park of CPS, where I supported fellow teachers in their professional development.

My international background:
Having learned Spanish as a second language while teaching in Madrid for two years, and having worked in Jerusalem at a summer camp, I understand the struggle of adjusting to a new culture.

My newcomer and ESL teaching expertise:
At District 62’s highly respected Multilingual English Learners program, I taught in the newcomer's classroom and collaborated with English, Social Studies, Science, Math, and Art teachers to help their ESL students succeed.

About the lesson

Let's face it: Academic success isn’t about being a genius.

It’s about being motivated to learn AND equipped with the building blocks for mastery.

If your student is driven to excel, I’ll provide the engine for their success.

Ready to take tutoring for a test drive?

1.) Schedule a free initial consultation to discuss your personal goals.

2.) Schedule your first lesson!

3.) I will implement tools from my teaching toolkit to create lesson plans aimed at helping YOU reach your goals!

What sets me apart? Some tutors will attempt to retain your business forever - They want your business.

I aim to give each student all of the tools, resources, and knowledge necessary for them to, at some point, no longer need my guidance - I want YOU to GROW.
