Hi, I am Jimmy Lane. For 31 years now, I have been teaching drum lessons, which is the focus of my life.

I found Jimmy Lane on Face Book. I was looking for a drum Tescher that would lead me into Drum Theory and formal instruction. Jimmy Loves to teach drumming. Our agreed upon time had ended and scheduling conflicts has kept us coming back for now. I will be back in the future.
Jimmy has 5 rules for drumming! 1. We are Timekeepers. 2. Know where the one in the measure is. 3. We are peacekeepers. 4. Love every note more that we think we should. 4. Know what part of the song you are in.
To me Jimmy is a lifelong drum Pal. Make sure you ask about the forever lesson!

Jimmy lane is one of the most versatile and talented drummers I have ever known.
He has decades of drumming knowledge and experience.
He is extremely patient and possesses a selfless willingness to teach his craft.
A student of any level will benefit from drum lessons with this drumming master.

Jimmy instills confidence in his students. He’s very disciplined and punctual. He provides a structure for his students to get to the next level of skills. I’d recommend Jimmy thank you!

We know Jimmy as an in-person drum teacher who comes to our home, but we have seen that he knows how to adapt his teaching to an online / video format when needed.
He is extremely patient while also demanding focus and precision when he can tell the student is capable of giving more; and he is also very skilled at recognizing when to push harder and when to adapt to the student’s learning speed.
While he is able to demonstrate every practice-pad rudiment and drum-set pattern himself (he’s a player as well), he does not fall into the trap of only showing how to do it. He identifies when the student needs to comprehend (and is capable of comprehending) notation and subdivision, and knows how to help the student use counting and verbal representation to grasp it.
I would recommend Jimmy for drum students of a variety of ages and skill levels.

I met Jimmy years ago after searching for a drumming teacher in Westport. He immediately put me at ease, kept it simple, and even encouraged me to challenge myself and go for a Bonham solo. ️
Rock on, Jimmy,
V.
