About Jennifer

- What kind of experience do you have?

am an experienced tutor and teacher with a successful history of tutoring online and in person. I specialise in all areas of the curriculum from ages 4-18, with an especial interest in mathematics and English.

Having attended one of the country's best girls' schools, I understand the importance of a good education and the doors it can open in later professional life. Education is the key to confidence, and with confidence one can achieve anything.

In addition to teaching the main areas of the curriculum, I also offer key examinations assistance including the 11+, the 13+ (or Common Entrance exam), SATs exams (KS1, KS2 and KS3), GCSE, AS Level and A Level. I have a very high success rate and have worked with a great number of students who were able to fulfil their full potential at the best school available as a result.

About the lesson

I am a very experienced and successful tutor with a portfolio of students all over the country. I have recently moved to Worcestershire and I am looking to continue my tutoring work here.

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I specialise in all areas of the primary and early secondary curriculum (ages 4-14), with a particular interest in English and Maths. I have also got extensive experience of 11+ and Common Entrance exam coaching, with an exceptionally high pass rate (100% 2012-2013).

I teach music across a broad range of instruments and styles including classical, pop/contemporary and music theory. I use the ABRSM grade scheme mostly but also have experience in the Guildhall scheme for those who do not wish to take theory exams post Grade 5. I also teach those who want to learn for fun ad general performance, rather than for exams - it's entirely up to you!

- Tell me about your qualifications.

Experienced teacher and tutor, in both the state and private sectors.

All ABRSM grades (clarinet, piano, music theory).
BMus (Hons.) in Music and Performance Practice from Cardiff.
Member of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music

- How much do you charge?

I charge £18 for a half hour lesson and £30 for a full hour.

- Where do you teach?

Either from my home or I can come to you, whatever suits you best.

- When are you available?

I am available at various times throughout the week - contact me and we can find a time that suits us both

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach all ages and all abilities, with experience in the curriculum for ages 4-18.

SATs (KS1, KS2 and KS3)

A Levels
University entrance exams
ABRSM and Guildhall music exams, but I will also teach other syllabi if required.
I also tutor those currently working towards GCSE, AS and A Level exams (or equivalent)
I also teach those who do not want to pursue qualifications, it's up to you!

I will not only work to the curriculum, but can also provide a strong basis in various subjects that will allow students to not only pass exams but to create a solid foundation on which to build.

In terms of music lessons, in addition to working on syllabus pieces (if you are working towards an exam) we will also discuss repertoire and help you discover and perform music from a wide range of genres to improve your performance and enjoyment of playing.
