About Mana

Hi! My name is Mana. I am a native Japanese speaker who was born and raised in Kanagawa, Japan. I studied abroad in Los Angeles to learn English when I was 18. I began studying Psychology at an university in the U.S. I am currently living in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

My hobbies are traveling, hiking, watching anime, and playing video games. I like learning about mental health and was a part of mental health organization in California to help people with mental illness.

About the lesson

[Teaching Experience]
I've been teaching people around the world Japanese online since 2022. I also have an experience as a cram school tutor. I enjoyed teaching not only Japanese but also math and history to elementary, middle, and high school students in 2019. I went to Cambodia as a Japanese culture educator in the same year to teach Japanese culture in schools.

[My Lesson Styles]
My lesson is conducted mainly in Japanese though I can help students in English when needed. I’m currently accepting N3 and N2 students. My lessons are based on conversation so that students can effectively practice output and conversation skills. Each lesson duration is 50 minutes.

We’ll use News Web Easy or News Web as the main material to improve your comprehension skills with the aim of listening, reading, and/or speaking improvement.

If you are interested in getting a textbook, please let me know. I can introduce you to new textbooks to work on outside lessons.

Homework is not mandatory for my students since everyone’s needs are different. For students who want homework, I recommend that they work on a textbook as homework and ask me questions that pop up while working on homework in the next lesson

It is important to me that students enjoy learning and using Japanese in my lessons. I'd like you to be released from the pressure of making a mistake. I encourage students to try using new words and grammar they learned and make many mistakes in my lesson to improve their Japanese skills!

In the first lesson, let's get to know each other! I'd like to hear what your needs and goals are in learning Japanese. I'm looking forward to meeting you!
