About Ryoko
My name is Ryoko. I was a Japanese Language /MindFit teacher at Darwin Middle School for 8 years.
I love what I do and making memories with my students. I grew up in Japan and always wanted to live overseas. I fell in love with Japanese culture for the first time after living in Australia for a long time.
My passion is also teaching Yoga and mindfulness and currently teaching Ashtanga Yoga through online at Yoga Territory (1/29 Cavenagh St, Darwin City).
My hobbies include swimming, dancing and studying yoga philosophies.

I am a relaxed teacher but I like structure, order and routines like other Japanese people so my students and I discuss learning intentions first and then I plan and structure my lesson. Every lesson builds on the previous one.
At my current school in Darwin my Japanese students won NT Speech contest for the past 6 years. We also performed traditional Japanese dance at local festivals. I love dancing with my students.
As for resources, I have plenty of worksheets and references to assist my online students.
Levels of tutoring offered: Primary, Middle, Highschool, University. Children and adults are welcome.
