About Jacob

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have over 4 years teaching experience which ranges from young to old. I have taught students working towards grades exams and students who want to play for fun, as a release and have a regular teaching schedule at an OFSTED 'Outstanding' school in London.
I have experience teaching one-to-one and group lessons and have also led music workshops.

I have a 100% ABRSM student exam pass rate.

Yes

- Where and with whom did you train?

I studied at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama with Lara James. Gerard McChrystal, Sarah Markham and Lee Goodall as well as many visiting international artists.

Since graduating I have studied with Jim Corry from time to time.

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

- Tell me about some of your current students.

I have a broad range of students who vary in age and abilities and who want to learn for different reasons.
All of my students are working at different levels on different instruments and range from ages 8 to around 40.

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I gained a BMus(Hons) from the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in 2010
I am an approved ABRSM teacher, gaining my Teaching Diploma in 2009

- How much do you charge?

Prices above are for lessons at my house in Forest Hill.
Prices will increase if I have to travel and this is dependant on location.
30 minute lessons are available for £15

- Where do you teach?

I teach at my house in Forest Hill, South-East London. I have a dedicated music room there with an open-door and am happy for parents to sit in on lessons.

I am happy to travel to other areas in London but prices will increase dependant on location.
I am close to Forest Hill, Honour Oak Park, Sydenham, Greenwich, Isle of Dogs, Canary Wharf, Sydenham, Crystal Palace, Lewisham

- When are you available?

I am flexible with times so please enquire so we can work something out.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

All ages

Sax - beginner to advanced
Flute - beginner to intermediate
Clarinet - beginner to intermediate

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

I'm happy to be flexible in this towards student requirements and what they wish to do.
The most popular are ABRSM and Trinity exams.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I'm happy to teach over Skype/Facetime. Prices as above. I send on some material for each student to work on in between lessons

- Do you have a personal message for students?

Learning an instrument doesn't have to be a chore - with the correct approach we can make this a great experience.
