I’ve studied advanced English at university and studied peer reviewed literature from around the world. I grew up reading 1000’s of fictional short stories which became my love for reading.

Gene is a natural teacher who instills trust & confidence in all of his students. With younger learners he also incorporates playfulness in a unique way and I have seen his students loving every minute of his classes whilst learning at a rate of knots. (). With adult students Gene’s understanding of technique is clearly & precisely conveyed in a user friendly way and his assessment of skill level & most importantly mental resilience is spot on enabling him to encourage one to push their edge. & improve. I swam my first 50m at 55 years of age with ease & joy after a few lessons with Gene & a takeaway of personal practice. After a lifetime as virtually a non swimmer this was immensely empowering.
