About Noor

I have two degrees — a BA in Politics & International Relations and an MSc in International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies — but don’t worry, I promise I’m not going to turn our lessons into a lecture!
I work full-time in the charity sector as a caseworker, supporting people through complex situations, and I’m also a Board Member of a Swiss-Greek NGO responding to humanitarian crises. My work is all about people, communication, empathy, and creating positive change — which is exactly the energy I bring into tutoring.
I’m passionate about teaching, inspiring confidence, and helping people realise they’re far more capable than they think. I speak four languages myself, so I truly understand what it feels like to struggle with grammar, mix up words, and then finally have that “aha!” moment.
I’m friendly, patient, and encouraging — I love making lessons engaging, relaxed, and motivating. Learning should feel exciting, not intimidating!

About the lesson

My approach to tutoring is student-centred, structured, and supportive. I tailor every lesson to the individual’s goals — whether that’s conversational fluency, exam preparation, grammar improvement, or building confidence speaking Italian.
I use a communicative teaching methodology, meaning lessons focus on practical language use from the very beginning. I combine structured grammar explanations with interactive activities such as conversation practice, reading short texts, vocabulary building, listening exercises, and real-life scenarios. I also adapt materials depending on learning style — some students prefer visual aids, others benefit more from speaking and repetition.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes long, though I can offer shorter (45 minutes) or longer sessions if needed.
I hold two English degrees, which have given me a strong understanding of language structure, linguistics, and effective communication. As a native Italian speaker, I am able to explain grammar clearly while also helping students develop natural pronunciation and fluency.
My lessons are suitable for:

• GCSE / A-level students
• University students
• Adults learning for travel, work, or personal interest
My aim is to create a comfortable and motivating environment where students feel confident making mistakes and steadily improving.
