About Valentina

I am a language teacher, with a Bachelor Degree in Linguistic and Cultural Mediation from the University of Milano (Italy) and a Master in International Development awarded with distinction by the University of Sheffield (UK). Italian is my native language, but I also speak fluently English and French, after years of living and working abroad.

When it comes to teaching, I have an ability to adapt to the needs of different students (according to their age, place of origin and ability). My teaching is based on the exchange of ideas, curiosities, resources and practice, including techniques for self-reflection and experiential learning. The student practices the oral part intensively, following the natural learning evolution, where he first learns to listen and speak. Learning is then structured at different levels, so as to fit the individual needs of every student.

At level 1, we work to stimulate the formulation of daily sentences, with an emphasis on dialogues and common situations.

At level 2, the vocabulary is divided into themes, increasing the student's ability to deal with situations that require specific vocabulary.

At level 3, 100% of communication must be in the language learned, giving priority to debates, arguing an opinion and speaking fluently, while at level 4 there is a process of ownership of communication, where the student becomes an effective language user.

About the lesson

I am a language graduate, specialised in English and French. I have lived and worked in 4 different countries: Italy, the United Kingdom, Burkina Faso and Tunisia, dealing with international development projects focused on the empowerment of women and girls. My life experience in Italy, as well as my professional experience in English and French speaking countries, allowed me to develop advanced language proficiency.

With over 5 years of experience in teaching and translation, I have trained and helped several students achieve their learning objectives. In addition, as an activist in civil society, I have supported educators who serve children from disadvantaged backgrounds to gain leadership experience and guide improvement in school.

I prepare students of all levels to: develop the pleasure of learning a new language; pass proficiency language tests; travel, study, work or live in a desired country.
