About Palaash
I believe language is one of the most powerful tools we have. It allows us to communicate our inner world and connect with others in meaningful ways. I want my students to feel confident using that tool, both academically and creatively. I graduated with a degree in Philosophy and Economics from Canada's top University, McGill. I then worked in Investment banking for a decade across Hong Kong, London and New York and decided it was time to pivot into a more creative life. For the last few years I've been an actor and a creative based in London. I grew up in seven countries, developing the ability to speak several cultural languages. This helps me understand people on a deeper level When I was completing the International Baccalaureate, I remember the frustration of endless essays. Over time, I realised how valuable those skills became: in my philosophy degree, in my work as a persuasive communicator in investment banking, and now as an actor and creative. Writing has been a constant, helping me express myself clearly, think critically, and bring ideas to life. It is a skill I want to equip students with so they too can feel confident, self-assured, and connected to the world. I love working with people and am highly attuned to their needs. My teaching style is engaging, flexible, and often a little unorthodox because I believe learning should feel alive :). I pride myself on understanding what each student needs and helping them get there in a way that is both effective and enjoyable. I also see teaching as a two-way exchange. I learn from my students as much as they learn from me. Can't wait to connect with you!

My method fuses clarity and creativity. I help students not just understand text, but also connect with it. That's when the best writing is born. My job is to tune into what students need and hone into that. Most lessons are 60 minutes, long enough to dive into analysis and practice writing. This can vary based on a student's needs. I work with - 1. Primary school students developing their relationship with literary analysis and writing. 2. Secondary school and sixth form students preparing for GCSEs and A-levels. 3. University students needing support with essays, dissertations, or critical analysis. 4. Adults wanting to improve writing skills for work, personal projects, or creative exploration. 5. International students seeking to strengthen their English language and literature understanding. I use a mix of close reading, discussion, and writing exercises to strengthen critical thinking, essay structure, and expressive skills. For students preparing for exams, I focus on practical strategies for structuring answers and meeting marking criteria, while still keeping lessons engaging. For those studying for enjoyment or professional growth, I encourage curiosity, deeper questioning, and confidence in their unique voice. I have experience tutoring students in English literature, essay writing, and interview preparation, as well as leading workshops in storytelling and performance. This combination allows me to bring both academic rigour and creative flair into lessons.
