About Juan Diego
I was born and raised in Bogota, Colombia. At age 17 I migrated here to Montreal. I speak Spanish as a first language, with English, French, and Quechua as languages that I learned after. I started teaching languages to help my parents learn English and French, as well as helping my friend's younger siblings learn Spanish. From then on, I have taken it as an activity that I cherish dearly.

To me, learning a language is not something that should complicate anyone's life. The main use for them is to communicate, something we all do in every day life, why must that be difficult? This is the Idea my lessons hinge upon.
A starter lesson usually goes like this:
- Engaging with the student's prior knowledge of the language
- Use that as a starting point to expand upon vocabulary, explaining grammatical rules and their every day usage. This stage heavily depends on the student.
- Finding interesting outlets to help the student learn even after the lesson (films, music, games, etc.)
These lessons are usually geared to those interested in learning the language to communicate rather than in strict academic settings, however they help a lot in secondary level Spanish.
