About Simona
I am currently Instructor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and I am working in developing valid strategies to block the progression of neurodegenerative disorders as well as Parkinson's disease (PD), Alzheimer's disease (AD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). I graduated in Biological Sciences at University of Bologna and I got an international PhD in Neurosciences at EPFL (Lausanne, Switzerland) studying the aggregation and propagation of amyloid proteins involved in PD and AD. For my first post-doc I went at the UCSD (San Diego, USA) under the supervision of the current director of Neurodegenerative disorders at NIH, where I was able to develop several therapeutic strategies in the treatment of PD. After 4 years I came back in Italy as Marie Curie fellowship at San Raffaele University in the Neuroimmunology Department, developing a medication that in preclinical model was able to block the neurodegeneration in ALS. In 2019 I moved back in USA and I became Instructor at Harvard Medical School in Boston, where I am manly working on Parkinson's disease.

I am currently an Instructor in Neurology at Harvard University and I live in Boston (time zone -6 from Italy). I give lectures on scientific subjects such as Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience and Genetics and Chemistry.
