About Merrick

With 9 years of experience as a French tutor, I have worked with High School and College students and successfully taught around 150 to 200 learners. My teaching philosophy focuses on steady progress and personalised learning.

I understand that every student has a different pace, so I design my lessons in a flexible way that supports individual growth. I use a mix of structured lessons, practical examples, and conversation-based learning to make sessions effective and engaging.

I also encourage students to actively participate and practice regularly, which helps them build confidence. One of my notable achievements is helping students improve their academic performance while also becoming comfortable in speaking French.

Many of my students have developed a lasting interest in the language. I am committed to guiding students with patience and consistency.

About the lesson

My approach to teaching French is centred on making learning interactive, practical, and easy to follow. I use real-life examples, case studies, and conversational practice to help students understand how the language is used in real-life situations. This makes lessons more engaging and helps students retain concepts better.

I maintain flexibility by adapting lessons according to each student’s needs, learning speed, and goals. Whether a student prefers structured lessons or interactive learning, I adjust my approach accordingly.

I believe in collaboration and encourage students to actively participate in discussions, exercises, and speaking practice that build confidence and fluency. I also follow a compassionate teaching style, creating a supportive and positive environment where students feel comfortable learning and improving.

In addition to French, I also teach grammar, vocabulary building, pronunciation, listening, reading, and writing skills. I also include cultural awareness to provide a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the language.
