About Eleanor

Eleanor is a private singing teacher and specialises in teaching Musical Theatre and Contemporary Commercial Music (CCM) styles. Within singing lessons, she aims to support students towards individual goals which can include working towards exams (LCM Pop and Music Theatre syllabus taught), building confidence, developing vocal technique and style, or just singing for fun! Termly performance opportunities are offered to regular students at Let's Sing (Eleanor's singing school) concerts and other community events. In addition to working as a private singing teacher, Eleanor runs many groups, choirs and workshops as part of her singing school: Let's Sing Academy, with an aim to introduce the joy of singing to members of the community. She also works for various theatre schools as an individual vocal tutor and group singing coach: Limelight Musical Theatre & Footlights Didsbury; and as a peripatetic music (vocals) tutor at Stretford High School. In these roles, Eleanor has led the musical direction for their productions as well as delivering individual and group singing lessons. Her training as a teacher has included graduating with BA (Hons) Musical Theatre from Buckinghamshire New University, working through the LCM Music Theatre grades and recently completing the Music Theatre Teaching Diploma - passing at the upper level, attending a specialist training course in the teaching of young voices led by Voice Workshop - achieving a distinction in the accompanying certificate, and attending many training courses led by Vocal Process: Inside The Singing Voice / The Advanced Retreat / The Singing Teacher's Retreat. Eleanor is a member of the SoundSense Union and the Association of Teachers of Singing.

About the lesson

Eleanor believes that everybody can sing and, given the right training, encouragement and hard work, anybody can learn to sing well. During your private singing lessons, she will work to encourage you to find your voice (we all have one!) in a fun and safe way. Eleanor specialises in Musical Theatre and Contemporary Commercial Music styles, although the techniques learnt can be applied to a range of different music styles. Whatever your singing goals may be: singing for fun; taking exams, expanding your knowledge; or building the confidence to sing outside the shower! - Eleanor will tailor each lesson to suit the requirements and goals of the individual student. Each lesson will be delivered to suit the needs of individual students and may include: Voice technique Vocal health Breath control Building confidence Developing a performance Acting through song
