About Elina
I am an incoming University of Waterloo Honors Math Co-op student with a strong passion for mathematics, problem-solving, and teaching. I have experience tutoring English, which helped me develop clear communication skills and the ability to explain concepts in a simple, structured way that fits each student's learning style.
I specialize in Grade 9-12 math, including algebra, functions, and calculus. Having recently completed these courses and performed strongly in them, I understand both the material and the common challenges students face. My approach focuses on building deep understanding rather than memorization, so students can feel more confident and independent in their work.
I aim to create a patient and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Each lesson is personalized to the student's needs, whether that's homework help, test preparation, or reinforcing classroom topics.
Outside of academics, I am also an athlete who trains consistently, which has helped me build discipline, consistency, and strong work habits—qualities I bring into my tutoring sessions.
My goal is to help students improve their grades, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and build lasting confidence in math.
