About Amine

Hi, I'm Amine. I completed a Sciences de la nature DEC with strong results in calculus, linear algebra, and physics, and I'm starting a Finance degree at McGill this fall. I've always been the person friends turned to when a math or physics concept wasn't clicking, and helping it finally make sense is something I genuinely enjoy. I trade options and build my own financial models, so I bring real, practical math into lessons, not just theory. I show up prepared, stay patient, and adjust until things click for you. Bilingual in French and English. Looking forward to working with you!

About the lesson

My name is Amine. I finished a Sciences de la nature DEC with a strong base in calculus, linear algebra, and physics. This fall I'm starting a Finance degree at McGill's Desautels Faculty of Management.
My approach is pretty simple. I want you to actually understand a concept before we jump into the formula. Most students who struggle aren't bad at math, they've just memorized steps without really knowing what's happening underneath, so the second a problem looks a bit different from the textbook example, they get stuck. We start by talking through the idea in plain language, then build up to the proper notation once it makes sense. It is the same for physics, understanding the core mouvements and reasons behind every law means you will not have to guess for each exercise anymore as it will naturally come to you once you see the whole picture
We will start with a quick check-in on what's been confusing and what's coming up in class, so we spend time where it actually matters. Then I walk through the concept with a worked example, followed by practice problems where I let you work through the thinking yourself and only step in when you're genuinely stuck. We close with a quick recap and a short list of things to practice before the next session, so progress builds week to week instead of starting from zero each time.
I'm not just tutoring from a textbook, I actually use this math. I trade options and build my own Python-based financial models, so I bring real, current examples into lessons rather than recycled ones. I'm bilingual in French and English, so I can switch to whichever language helps things click best for you.
Who these lessons are for : Students from elementary school up to CEGEP or the college equivalent, in math or physics. That includes younger students building their basics, high schoolers working through algebra or trig, CEGEP students in Calculus 1/2/3, linear algebra, or physics and all in between
