About Emma

I’m a native French speaker with 23 years of teaching experience and a strong academic background in psychology and psychoanalysis. I have also lived abroad for many years, including 2 years in Canada and 7 years in the United States, which gives me a very practical understanding of the challenges English speakers face when learning French.

I work with teenagers and adults from beginner to advanced level, helping them improve speaking, grammar, pronunciation, listening, writing, and overall fluency. I also prepare students for DELF, DALF, TCF, TEF/TEFAQ, FIDE, IB French, and AP French.
My background in psychology strongly influences the way I teach. I pay particular attention to confidence, motivation, anxiety, memory, learning styles, and the individual obstacles that can slow down language acquisition.

My lessons are structured but highly personalized. I don’t use a one-size-fits-all method: I adapt each course to the student’s level, goals, strengths, difficulties, and deadlines.

Having lived in both North America and France, I can also explain French language and culture in a way that is clear and accessible to English-speaking students.
